Mark Melendy has over twenty years of experience in
a variety of practice areas, from estate planning and
administration, to tax law, business succession planning,
non-profit corporation law, trust administration,
guardianship, business law and real estate.
Professional Experience
Mark began his legal career as a law clerk to Franklin S. Billings, Jr., Judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont. Thereafter, he was associated with Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Boston. Mark and his family then relocated to Brattleboro, Vermont, where Mark was a principal at Kristensen, Cummings, Phillips, Carrol, and Melendy, P.C. In 1998, Mark moved back to the Upper Valley, where he grew up, and was a founder of Whittington, Melendy & Girdwood, P.C. in Hanover, New Hampshire and Woodstock, Vermont. In 2003, he started his own firm, Law Offices of Mark E. Melendy, P.L.L.C., with offices in Hanover, New Hampshire and Woodstock, Vermont.

Community Involvement
Mark serves on the Board of Directors of the Woodstock Historical Society in Woodstock, Vermont; the Board of Directors of the Ottauquechee Health Foundation in Woodstock, Vermont; the Development Committee of Opera North in Lebanon, New Hampshire; the Planned Giving Committee of the Norman Williams Public Library in Woodstock, Vermont and is a deacon of the Quechee Community Church in Quechee, Vermont.
Personal
Born and raised in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Mark previously worked in the insurance industry attaining the CPCU designation, and was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Mark currently lives in Hartland, Vermont and on Mascoma Lake in Enfield, New Hampshire. His wife Jo is a minister in Quechee, Vermont at the Quechee Congregational Church. They have two children, Mateo and Maria.
